At Lexicon, we envision better lives for patients by discovering and developing novel therapies that will impact patients with debilitating diseases. We apply our same passion and determination for drug discovery into our communities by supporting many local community organizations. Our employees actively participate in fundraisers for medical research such as the Susan B. Komen Walk for breast cancer, the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk, the MS150 bike ride for multiple sclerosis and many other events.
Lexicon employees also participate in community events that allow us to demonstrate our Company pride such as the annual YMCA Team Dragon Boat Challenge that supports our local YMCA and the annual BioHouston Chili Cook-off. Lexicon also participates in the annual SCI://Tech Exposition, one of the largest science and technology fairs in the nation. SCI://TECH provides a forum for the community to support the math, science and technology learning experiences for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. More than 6,000 students participate each year in more than a dozen events and competitions. Lexicon sponsors the biotechnology competition in addition to providing judges for the event and mentors for the students.
