Job Description: |
The position will be responsible for all clinical programming on clinical studies. The successful candidate will function as lead programmer to support data management activities for complex trials and multiple data sources. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to coordinating the flow of clinical data into and out of internal databases; Monitoring and completing planning, construction, testing and maintenance of clinical databases in Oracle Clinical, ePower, DataFax or SAS for assigned studies; Collaborating within Clinical Operations for reports, data analysis, and data extraction; Establishing best practices and SOPs for software development and change management; Review database and integrating all external data sources (e.g. lab, ECG, etc.) with Lexicon Pharmaceutical's clinical database. |

| Qualifications: |
- BS or MS degree in computer science related discipline
- Minimum three years of clinical data programming experience (including Oracle Clinical, SAS or other DBMSs)
- Proficiency in Oracle Clinical, SAS or other DBMSs database set-up
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Ability and desire to work in a team-oriented environment
