Our goal is to enhance the lives of patients by discovering and developing breakthrough treatments for human disease.  We are committed to achieving this goal, and, with multiple drug candidates in ongoing clinical trials and several additional compounds in preclinical research and development, we are well on our way:

• Several additional compounds are in preclinical research and development.

In addition to our internal pipeline, we are discovering and developing additional drug candidates with selected pharmaceutical companies to maximize our success in developing breakthrough therapeutics.

Robust Pipeline of Validated Drug Targets
Over and above these existing drug candidates, Lexicon has identified and validated more than 100 drug discovery targets covering a wide range of therapeutic areas.  This robust pipeline presages a promising future and is a credit to our Genome5000^TM program.  Initiated in 2001, this effort to discover the function of 5,000 mammalian genes is nearly complete.  These efforts, together with our state-of-the-art medicinal chemistry facility and expertise, provide Lexicon with the means to identify and develop drug candidates for our validated drug targets.
