Professional coaches often find themselves in the challenging position of navigating complex cultural landscapes, identities, and experiences. This six-week seminar series is designed to deepen your understanding and elevate your practice of culturally responsive coaching. Featuring three accomplished coaches and scholars, each bringing unique perspectives, this series will explore critical topics around diversity, equity, inclusion, psychological safety, and well-being, and how these themes are deeply interwoven with effective coaching.
The overall goal of this series is to take a deep dive into how these principles can transform our work in coaching and to help participants engage clients with even more meaning and impact.
- Clarify the Language of Inclusion: Gain clarity on the complex and evolving terminology around diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice, and understand how different organizations use these terms to shape their cultures.
- Language Consciousness Sensitivity: Learn how to strategically choose language that builds trust and inclusion, and creates a coaching environment in which all clients feel seen, heard, and valued.
- Enhance Your Communication: Understand the power of language in coaching, and how mindful communication can break down barriers, and promote deeper client engagement, and highlight adept approaches to leadership at all levels.
- Establish Psychological Safety: Learn how to create a coaching environment where clients feel safe to express themselves, take risks, and engage authentically—critical to developing trust and rapport with clients from all backgrounds.
- Go Beyond Surface-Level Competence: Challenge existing assumptions about cultural competence, enabling a more authentic, self-aware approach that moves beyond mere understanding to deeper connection and empathy.
- Create Meaningful Connections and Improve Psychological Safety: Develop the tools to integrate awareness of diverse experiences, traumas, and values into your coaching practice, helping you build stronger, more impactful relationships with clients.
- Link DEIB to Well-Being: Understand how diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are tied to individual and organizational well-being, and why integrating these principles can lead to greater joy, productivity, and engagement.
- Empower Through Acknowledgment: Learn how creating spaces where clients feel seen, heard, and valued leads to more sustainable outcomes and stronger, more resilient teams.
